tp bennett LLP (London, 2015 – 2017) – Architect/Part 2 Architectural Assistant
Worked as part of a studio specialising in residential developments. Key projects included a 26 storey, £10m residential tower in the Isle of Dogs and a residential masterplan in Milton Keynes. Responsibilities included delivering planning application packages, construction/tender stage drawings, development and maintenance of a complex Revit model as Team BIM Leader. Regularly liaised with clients and consultants, taking ownership of packages and delivering high quality drawings that complied with building regulations and the London Housing Design Guide standards.
Benoy (London, 2013 – 2015) – Part 2 Architectural Assistant
Worked as part of a large team as well as with a Director on a variety of projects located in the UK, Europe and Asia. Helped design buildings at a variety of scales including shopping centres, offices, hotels, residential apartments and masterplans. Expanded my responsibilities within the design team where my designs influenced the direction of several projects.
5plus Architects (London, 2011 – 2012) – Part 1 Architectural Assistant
Worked at RIBA stages A-C on a range of £15m-£30m projects, from mixed use retail-led developments to hotels and housing. Experience developing planning applications and feasibility studies, working closely with the Creative Director. Drawing and development of plans, sections, elevations and visual representations. Effectively managed responsibilities across several projects.
HKR Architects (London, 2010 – 2011) – Part 1 Architectural Assistant
Worked within the Education sector of the London studio. Experience of RIBA stages A-E on several schools in Lewisham and Hampshire. Worked as part of a small team while assisting a Director on additional projects. Experience of the requirements of the BSF and Free Schools initiatives. Surveyed sites and communicated directly with contractors. Worked on refurbishment works and new-build projects to an award-winning standard. Represented the studio at community consultation meetings.
Education
Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture (2017) – University of Westminster
Completed the course at Westminster and joined the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register of Architects in 2017. Gained a greater understanding of the planning process as well as the Architect’s role at construction, both as Contract Administrator and Principal Designer
MA Architecture (2011 – 2013) – University of Westminster – 2:1
Communication through model making from 1:1 scale down to 1:1000. High standard of hand-sketching ability. Interest in filmmaking techniques including storyboarding and animation. Animations shown at film festivals in the UK and Europe.
BA(Hons) Architecture (2007 – 2010) – London South Bank University – 2:1
Awarded SLSA annual design award. Managed the architecture section of a student publication. Student Year Representative, supporting students and delivering student satisfaction and feedback reports to the faculty.
Achievements
2016 London Skyline 2145 Drawing Prize Winner for a hand sketch depicting a future for London.
2015 – Combo Competitions prize winner for filling station proposal, Fill Up Here. Published on The Architectural Review website and ArchDaily.
2010 – AIA International Design Charrette – Part of the winning team at the AA Charrette.
2007 – SLSA Design Award – Received the SLSA studio prize for excellent work.
